okay today we're in a chevy trailblazer
and this one in particular is a 2005 and
what we're adjusting today is the
maintenance light or the oil change
light right there that stays on when you
start the vehicle
this is really simple all I do is turn
the vehicle off go to the on position
and push the gas pedal all the way the
floor one two three times and then just
wait so all the way to the floor three
times that light's going to flash and
then go out and then we start the
vehicle up to verify it took care of it
and it goes away so once again that was

with the vehicle off okay I go to the on
position and with my foot one two three
all the way with in five seconds and
that takes care of that light
I just changed the oil in my 2009 Toyota
Corolla S and you need to reset the
maintenance required light every 5,000
miles you're supposed to change the oil
at 5,000 miles and if you don't reset it
the light will come on I'll show you how
to do that right now first thing you do
is you turn the key on and you can see
there's my odometer what you need to do
is you need to push this button right
here and change to the trip and it has

to be on trip or it won't reset and you
can see that I've gone four thousand
eight hundred seventy-one miles since my
last oil change if I make it to five
thousand miles without changing right
here a little light will come on that
says maintenance required I don't want
that light to come on so I'm going to
reset this what you do is first you turn
the key on you set it to trip then you
turn the key off now that it's off you
reach down and you hold this button and
you keep it pressed in while turning the
key on and you can see those little
lines flashing there and as soon as you

see it flash the zeros you can take your
finger off and it is now reset it is
reset now it still reads four thousand
eight hundred seventy-one
so I have to press and hold it to reset
that back to zero and now every time
your trip a will tell me every time I
look at that it'll tell me how far I am
how close I am to needing an oil change
and right before I get to five thousand
miles I will get in and change my oil
and I'll go through these steps again
