hi welcome to worldwide culinaryapprentice my name is chef Robert
Bennett in today's video we're gonna
show you how to calibrate the candy
thermometer it's got a glass tube on the
inside and you would either push it up
or down depending on the temperature
we're so let's learn how to do it we're
gonna need a candy thermometer and a pot
of boiling water you take the candy
thermometer place it in the boiling
water and we're gonna wait for the
inside to rise once it comes to a stop
we're gonna see where it's at you want
it to stop at a hundred Celsius or a 212
Fahrenheit if it's stops at anything
other than a hundred Celsius or 212
Fahrenheit then you need to adjust the
glass rod mine is at ninety so I'm going
to have to push it up just a little bit
I'm gonna take your thumb and just give
a little push on the glass tube and then
you're gonna put it back into the
boiling water now make sure that you
calibrated it correctly so as it's
rising back up you're gonna check and if
it sucks at a hundred and you're good to
go and then you have a calibrated
thermometer ready to be used
