mr. different we are back with another
video the first video of the new year so
I hope everybody enjoyed it you know has
fun with your family and nod and you
know got a little break John over time
when it's time to get back into the
music get back on the grind and you know
back for me to make some more tips and
stuff so today's tip it's basically
going to be just showing you how to do a
quick and dirty master 4 if you want to
upload your video your videos your beats
to you know say YouTube or if you want
to upload a SoundCloud or soundclick or

wherever you want to blow your beats to
you know you want to have a pretty good
master a pretty good sound cuz you know
lot of times when people hear beats they
tend to go for the beats that sound of
loudest cuz you know with the loudness
Wars going on and blah blah blah I get
in there but basically the human brain
assumes that louder is better every time
point-blank period if you hear some you
tend to think the louder song is better
regardless of who you is what you it's
just how our brains are designed to you
know hear stuff you know it takes a long
time to really get out of that mindset

but you know that's when an artist hear
beep they gravitate to the louder beaten
appointment play it may be you may have
an amazing mix amazing beat amazing mix
but now that 10 times they're gonna
might hear something louder so what you
want to do is you want to make sure the
beach that you put up or as loud as
possible without sounding like crap and
then when they buy the beats you send
them a mixed version or non master
version then let them do the master in
the end that's why that's how you you
you normally do stuff you know that's
what you want practice too if you can

you don't want to send anybody a master
files you want send something like this
what I have it they can sit they vocals
in nice and then mastered as a whole as
you see the top one is just a straight
mix beat it's all mixes no master
Plateau and in this bottom right here is
when I apply to master as you can see
the waveforms are significantly greater
and bigger you know so that's what you
want to try to do so I'm gonna show you
how to get this quick and dirty master
you know just for upload this please
don't be doing this for
beats hey no don't be doing for your

mixes I mean you came but this is really
for you know showcasing your work so
don't take this into thinking this is a
master for a real actual master like a
real master takes time and a lot of work
but a quick and dirty magic for
showcasing your be stuff like that this
is great for somebody's gonna play you
the mix version I'll play the master so
you can see the big difference
as you see it sounds really good really
nice as whale mix you know has lots of
headroom lots of dynamics that's what
you want when you definitely want your
mixes to sound like you wanted to sound

just like that now when you apply the
dirty master tool you get this sound
now if I was the artist and I just heard
this one versus this one I would want
that one because it sounds better you
know and it makes me want to buy that
beat-up download that beater whatever
someone show you three ways of doing a
pretty quick and dirty match let me use
three different limiters that's all we
do is using different limiters and we
using a using a metering plug-in I'm
using the brain works point but you can
use any meter and plug-in that you own
because most of them come with because

most like Pro Ale comes with it kind of
a come with a metering but if you must
you know use a different one you notice
so basically I do a pro-am simple I just
Pro ills a simple very very very simple
limiter is probably my favorite it
sounds the most natural compared to any
other limit I use the only other limit I
think is just a good pro elders L to buy
don't always plugins no more because I
just it's too many of them so if you
have L to it's a good one use but my
favorite one is Pro I used for all my
masters but basically if you wanna use
Pro L it comes off it starts off like
this this is the default right here
and pro is very simple you want to I do
you got gain and you got output and if
you go to advance you can change your
attack release and stuff a nature but
not gonna do nothing that we just like
say making a very quick and dirty master
so what we want to do is we want to hold
alt because when you hold alt and also
if you see right here it's lowering the
output based off how much input or gain
we give it so that's a good that's that
keeps it from you know blowing your
speakers and just being all of your face
at first you can really focus on looking
at the dynamic so what we're gonna do am
I bring it up and play it with the beat
you always wanna start the last part of
your beat and you're just gonna bring it
up until you get about 6 DB of gain
reduction game that's gonna be right
about here you want to get about 6 DB of
gain reduction I you do 6 DB is to ear
like it's the taste you know but 6 DB is
usually a nice sweet spot me personally
so let's get it
okay so we're getting about four point
negative four point negative six point
four dyslexia maybe six point four gain
reduction so that's gonna be you know
that's pretty good that's pretty decent
whatever now we need to set the output
on Pro ale and basically the output is
like the ceiling definitely I want you
to look at night most time you get if
you look at a normal limiter you have
the threshold and you have the ceiling
that's pretty much where this so gain is
the out threshold and the output would
be the ceiling and usually an industry
standard ceiling is negative point three
that the industry standard ceiling now
gonna a be it and you can hit a
difference

up on Soundcloud youtube blah blah you
ready to go let's do it another popular
limiter the ozone Maximizer a lot of
people love this one I mean I'm a I used
to be a big fan of it not so much
anymore um it's still very good if you
own it you know a whole power to you we
would do the same thing this is gonna be
the default right here we're gonna try
to get negative 6 DB of gain reduction
right here a troop of true peak limiting
so we're gonna do that once again so
we're gonna start from the same spot and
we're just gonna bring down the
threshold but we're gonna set our
ceiling first they see just a
traditional dimmer so negative 0.3 and
then we're gonna brain threshold down
till we get about negative 6 dB
something about negative 5.8 that sounds
really loud to me I said you could push
a little far if you want to but big
difference once again same as pro ale
going to a be it for you once again boom
boom boom throw it up on soundcloud
youtube and let the money come in last
but not least for people who don't own
any third party plugins
we'll use the FL limiter a lot of people
sleep on it but it's a very good program
and I like it but you will need some
kind of medium plugin cuz it's kind of
hard to tell on here so if you have some
kind of media plug-in like the brain
works media a metering plug plug in or
whatever then use death so same thing I
said our ceiling and the sill is gonna
be told right up here in the corner so
as you move it down move it to negative
0.3 right there native point through
ceiling and everyone's gonna brain to
gang up that's Harley it's brain to gang
up and you know two we get about
negative sit until we get about our mess
at about negative six
let's do it
but the one thing about the fruity
limiter you can't push it a little bit
harder cuz it's not as powerful as the
other limiter so you know you probably
go negative 5 or negative 4 and to kind
of compete with the other ones though
and once again a bit throw it up on
YouTube SoundCloud show off to your
friends bumping in the car so I hope

trying to tell you how to do a master
pyramid just basically just showcasing
your beats because as I said we want to
make money we want to sell our beats and
you gotta have good sounding loud
high-quality sounding beats in order for
people to consider purchasing your beats
so with that being said I hope this

this as a master 4 song or whatever this
is just for showcasing stuff and like I
said if you're on the deadlines how you
do like a little freestyle something
like that and you want to do a quick and
dirty master this is a good way to do a
very simple master without you know
doing a full-blown master with mastering
EQ and compression and all that so hope
